Default 2 guys, DHCP, router, OK?

Just thought I'd grab the advise of the wise here and if someone can give it in black and white (not literally).

My brother will be joining in next beta and he bought the game for his roomates too. They have a router connected directly to the modem. They have a DHCP ISP (shaw) and I was just curious ...

will it be fine playing on the same server or do I have to go over there and set them up individual IPs (cause thats a pain and they live 2 cities away)

I checked out the guildwars faq and only found info on 2 comps need 2 games ... okay thats obvious. Just wanted to know if there is anything I need to set up.

In my place its only me and the miss and I only got 1 cpu ... still trying to get that 6600GT ... I think I'll butter her up with jewelery or something, then she will be ok.

But they got 2 comps and 2 ps2 and they have trouble with their ps2 always when playing same game same server with me.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

The game is forgiving enough that an older 5200/5500/5700/5900 works simply great. I don't know what card you have, but I'm sure that it won't take a lot of money to enjoy the game. Regarding the router, it shouldn't make a bit of difference. Your account is by email, not IP. I intend to test it next weekend by getting another pre-order for my daughter so we can play together.

My bro and I both play through the same router and we have had no problems yet.

If they won't be able to play at the same time, how would lan parties work?

I think ANet is more worried about multiple people playing a single account at the same time.

Tell the router to use DHCP so it grabs an IP from Shaw, then tell all cpus to grab an IP from the router. Or statically assign IP's to each computer, either way is fine. Regardless of the method, GW will work on all the computers. Infact we sat a router behind a router and GW still worked fine. Steam and the Steam games, however, did not, regardless of the double port forwarding =(

Ahh thats why Condition Zero wouldn't work! TY. And yeah they are on shaw and already set to automatic IP from router. Thank you all for the quick response ... I didn't want them to have any time wasted as well the weekend is limited enough and they will be waiting at 12:00 until they can log on.
Regarding my crappy card ... well its a 5200 I'm pretty sure and unfortuneatley I already had my bro go pick the ring up today. Some I'll be damned if I dont get that 6600GT. hehe

lan parties work behind a router or switch or hub ... you dont even need internet. Just cables and a lan networked together!
